New to Team-Logic: Navigation Trees

November 21st, 2008

We recently released a feature to give our customers even more control over their website. Previously, the user could edit news, events, job postings, designated areas and any other CMS app we installed. But what if the customer wants to add a page, or even an entire branch of pages to their website?

This is where navigation trees come in. With it, you will be able to make an unlimited amount of pages up to three levels deep within your site. Not only can you add pages, but the system allows you to add any of the applications installed in your site into the navigation (Ex. news, events, meeting minutes, and portfolio and job listings).

Although we are already using this feature on several sites, our City of Rehoboth project will really put it to the test. They present a challenge in that their website will contain many separate navigation’s, in varied sections of the site, and may be managed by several people.  I will be sure to make a post about the success of this project when it is launched!

What are inbound links and why should you care?

November 19th, 2008

Web marketing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be dizzying subjects for many business owners and marketing companies. In this article, I am going to discuss inbound links.

Inbound links are a great way to market a website online. An inbound link is a link from an internet website to the website you are trying to promote. It is important to note that not all inbound links are created equal and your link building campaign should be carefully planned. If the website linking to your target site is in a relevant field, you will see a greater benefit than one from an unrelated field. As an example, if a manufacturer of widget x links to a website selling widget x, this is the perfect “authority” link and these are your best types of inbound links. » Read more: What are inbound links and why should you care?

Delaware.Net’s Content Management System (CMS)

November 19th, 2008

Having a background in communication and marketing, I never thought for a minute I would actually be showing clients how to manage their own website. Three years ago, a senior in college I would have told you, you’re crazy! But Delaware.Net has actually developed a way for the non-geeky Joe Customer to enter content easily through Team-Logic™, and manage it entirely without the help of a web developer or IT personnel. Now, for the non-technical people out there, do not be scared. If I can do this, so can you!  I know first hand people’s reaction because I do the client training. They usually say, “I LOVE IT!” And I do too.

All Good Things…

November 14th, 2008

On Monday January 5th 2009, we will be retiring the server holding all active email boxes for the @delaware.net, @delaware.com and @ezol.com. All three domains will be transitioned to a new server, however due to program limitations, we cannot copy any user content (address book, calendar, emails, etc). Changes to our password scheme will also require a password to now have a minimum of 5 characters and not contain your username:

Example: johndoe@delaware.net cannot have a password of john123

We can be contacted at anytime to update your current password before the Jan. 5th deadline. After the deadline, if your current password does not comply with the new settings, we will change the password for you.

This will not affect anyone using an email client to download their data to their personal machines. Anyone primarily using Webmail to check their mail will need to set up an email program to retrieve their data from the server. Failure to do so by Jan. 5th will result in loss of email.

If you have any questions or concerns, the Delaware.Net Support Staff can be reached at (888) 432-7965 or through email at support@delaware.net.
