Google Search Engine Advice for 2009

In a recent interview at PubCon, Google Search Engineer Matt Cutts highlighted a few important things to look for in 2009.

I have listed some key points from the Matt Cutts Interview below as well as the video. Enjoy!

  • The importance of website conversion data versus raw Analytic data.
  • Having multiple sub-domains optimized for a niche will no longer help you dominate a search engine result page (SERP).
  • Universal Search is more important than ever before and only growing in importance (not good for international companies with one domain).
  • Blogs, Videos and Images are only growing as a means to reach a broader more search educated (tech savvy) customer with your message, products and services.
  • Your website content must be optimized for mobile devices, meaning minimal and selective use of flash.
